Hello and welcome.
Goode Wool Hunting was started in 2010 by Angela. The first meeting had two dedicated members, Caitlyn and Angela.

Now it is a thriving group of up to 12. We love to get together over a cup of tea or glass of wine and share ideas, teach each other new skills, knit crochet and just generally have a really good chat.

Finished Project

Here is the gorgeous "Twisted Pullover" I made recently. The pattern is from "Designer Knitting" magazine, winter 2012 edition. I am pretty sure you can find the pattern on Ravelry too. The pattern is very easy, stitched side to side in "stockinette" made from Aslan Trends "Royal Alpaca" which I purchased online from a Canadian company.

When I finished knitting it, for the first time ever, I actually "blocked" the pieces before stitching it together. It was certainly worthwhile and made stitching it together very easy.

I blocked it by giving it a quick wool wash in my washing machine and then pinning it to a blanket to dry.

The yarn is incredibly light and soft, so it is lovely to knit and wear. And I think it looks very nice on too. I wore it on Wednesday, as it was only 16 degrees celcius here! Brr... However, word to the wise, don't wear this yarn with black velvet jeans. I was covered in fluff!

Now that I have finally finished this item, I am onto the next knitting project. You may recall in an earlier post, I bought some gorgeous Red Misti Alpaca Tonos Worsted yarn. It is now being knitted up into a "poncho style pullover". It is supposed to be knitted in reverse stockinette stitch, but I prefer to knit it in regular stocking stitch so that the colour can be truly appreciated. I think it is gorgeous. I love that it is knitting up very quickly and I think I'll have it done in a few days.

Happy knitting everyone!
